We spend a lot of time thinking about travel. Not just where to go, but how to get there, what makes a trip easier, and which choices are actually worth the extra time, money, or effort.

Should you take the nonstop flight or break up a long journey? How much connection time is enough? Is business class worth the extra cost? How much luggage is too much luggage? Do you really need cash? Should you arrive a day early? And, for some of us, can the knitting needles come along?

These are questions we hear all the time, and many of them are questions we still ask ourselves when we travel.

So we’re starting a new regular feature in the Resonate Journal: Travel Tip Tuesday.

Some weeks, we’ll tackle a practical question. Other times, we’ll look at one of those travel decisions where there really isn’t a single right answer. And from time to time, we’ll share a useful list of things we’ve learned, sometimes because we got it right and sometimes because we learned the hard way.

We’re not talking about “travel hacks” or telling you there is one correct way to travel. There isn’t. But after years of planning trips, traveling with groups, and spending a fair amount of our own lives in airports, hotels, trains, and unfamiliar places, we’ve developed some opinions about what tends to make travel easier and more enjoyable.

That’s what we’ll share here: practical advice, thoughtful travel decisions, and a little perspective from years on the road.

And if there’s a travel question you’ve always wondered about, send it our way. It might just become next Tuesday’s Travel Tip.

Travel Well. See you Tuesday.
