Meet Your Hosts

Torri Friedmann

Torri Friedmann has been a Social Worker and Therapist since 1997. She attended The University of Texas at Austin where she received her undergraduate degree in social work. She received her master's degree in social work from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1997. She has been a therapist in middle schools and high schools as a prevention specialist and has also worked as a Christian Therapist at The Timothy Center in Austin, Texas since 2019. As a therapist, Torri works with clients to cope with and diminish depression, anxiety, grief and loss as well as providing divorce support, postpartum depression support, cancer support, and provides guidance and support for women in emotionally abusive relationships. Torri's passion as a life coach is helping women find what lights them up! She is a mother of three grown boys. She loves her family, her faith, her friends and travel!

William Kyle and Alex Hay founded Resonate Tours based on their shared passion for European culture and travel.

William lived in Florence, Italy while studying architecture in college. He fell in love with the urban lifestyle steeped in history, a contrast with his life growing up in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Over the two years he lived in Florence, he learned to speak fluent Italian and developed deep friendships that he's maintained ever since. He has since visited Italy dozens of times, and has other favorite haunts across Europe. In addition to his Italian, William speaks passable Portuguese and some Spanish.

Similarly, Alex studied abroad in Spain not once, but twice! Adapting to a foreign culture and learning a new language fascinated him and he developed a lifelong passion for travel and exploring new cultures. He's visited more than 20 countries across Europe, Latin America and Asia. He speaks Portuguese and Spanish, some Italian and about thirty words of Mandarin Chinese.

A life of living in various cities in multiple countries has led William and Alex to reside in Lisbon, Portugal, a 21st-century intersection of world cultures.

Transportation outside of the group transfer from Lisbon to the Algarve (any additional transfers are at your own expense).
Airfare to and from Portugal—you’ll book your preferred flights to fit your schedule.
Meals not specified in the itinerary—dinners on most nights and some lunches allow for personal exploration.
Optional activities and personal expenses—spa treatments, additional excursions, and shopping are up to you.
Travel insurance—highly recommended to protect your trip investment.

Arrive in Carvoeiro, Algarve, and step into a retreat designed for renewal and connection. Settle into your private ocean-view villa, where the sea breeze and golden cliffs create a tranquil backdrop for your journey. Meet your fellow travelers in a Welcome Circle led by Torri Freidmann, LMSW, where we set personal intentions. A gentle movement session eases the transition into retreat mode before we share a welcome dinner, laying the foundation for the days ahead.

Day 2

Grounding Into Wellness

The day begins with sunrise meditation and journaling, guiding us toward inner clarity. A morning movement session awakens the body, followed by healing circles and Fem Therapy, where we explore personal renewal and emotional well-being. After a nourishing included lunch, enjoy free time for relaxation or an optional massage. As the evening unfolds, a guided breathwork session fosters deep reflection. Dinner is on your own, allowing for personal time and exploration.

Day 3

Embracing Joy and Movement

Movement is healing, and today’s session encourages self-expression through dance or mindful movement, helping us release tension and tap into joy. A midday healing circle invites personal breakthroughs, followed by an included lunch and an afternoon of quiet reflection—whether by the pool, on a coastal walk, or journaling in solitude. The evening centers around restorative movement and visualization, integrating the day’s experiences. Dinner is on your own.

Day 4

Stillness, Strength, and Reflection

Today is about building inner resilience and embracing stillness. A strength-focused yoga session connects breath with movement, followed by a discussion led by Dr. Torri Freidmann, LMSW, where we explore themes of growth, healing, and personal transformation. After an included lunch, the afternoon allows time for deeper reflection, rest, or optional activities. The evening features an intention-setting session, preparing us for the next phase of our journey. Dinner is on your own.

Integration and Renewal

With our wellness journey nearing its peak, today is about embracing transformation. The morning begins with gentle movement and meditation, followed by self-guided journaling to reflect on insights. After an included lunch, the afternoon is yours—opt for massage therapy, a beach walk, or quiet rest. A final healing circle allows space for personal breakthroughs. The evening is open for dinner on your own, offering time for solitude or small-group connection.

Creative Expression and Mindful Crafting

Creativity is a form of mindfulness, and today’s craft workshop engages the senses while encouraging self-expression. Guided by an artisan, we focus on the joy of creating rather than perfection. After an included lunch, the afternoon is yours to relax, reflect, or explore the town. The evening offers a casual gathering for conversation and relaxation before dinner on your own, allowing space to absorb the experience of the day.

Day 7

Journey to the Edge of Possibility

Day Trip to Cabo de São Vicente & Lagos

Today, we venture to Cabo de São Vicente, where towering cliffs meet the vast Atlantic, inspiring reflection on horizons and possibilities. Standing at the edge of the land, we consider the journeys ahead. From there, we continue to Lagos, a vibrant coastal town where you’ll enjoy free time for lunch and exploration. Returning to the villa, we gather for a farewell dinner, celebrating our shared experiences and the transformations we’ll carry forward.

Day 8

Closing & Carrying the Light Forward

Our final morning begins with one last meditation and movement session, grounding us for the transition home. A closing circle invites reflection on growth, offering tools to integrate our experiences into daily life. After a heartfelt farewell gathering, we part ways—not just as travelers, but as women who have shared a journey of deep renewal and connection. Though the retreat ends, the transformation continues.

How do I know if this retreat is the right fit for me?

Because this retreat is designed to be an intimate, personal experience, we believe that alignment is essential—for you and for the group as a whole.

Before confirming your registration, Torri will meet with you one-on-one to learn more about your interests, your hopes for the retreat, and any life coaching needs you'd like to explore. This conversation helps her thoughtfully shape the group experience and ensures that the retreat will be a meaningful fit for you.

After your conversation, if you and Torri agree that this is the right moment and the right space for you, we’ll send along your official deposit invoice and a confirmation of your commitment to the retreat and its terms & conditions. If it turns out the timing or focus isn’t quite right, no payment will be required, and we’ll cancel your pre-registration with care.

Will the retreat include spiritual or faith-based elements?

Light Me Up! includes moments of reflection, intention-setting, and connection that may draw from Torri’s Christian background, including optional prayer or spiritual language. She is deeply committed to holding space that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive of women from all backgrounds, and welcomes each participant to engage in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to them.

As part of your retreat preparation, you'll also have a one-on-one consultation with Torri. This is a great opportunity to share any preferences, questions, or concerns so you can feel fully comfortable and supported throughout the experience.

What is the itinerary for the trip? How close is the typical itinerary to what we'll actually do?

The tour page includes a link to a typical itinerary. This itinerary will be pretty close to the experience of the actual tour (often, it's based on the actual itinerary of a prior similar tour). Of course, since the tours are months away, it's possible some of the details will need to be adjusted or reordered since not all of the activities can be booked so far in advance. So, the typical itinerary should give you a very good idea of what kind of experience you can expect, but we cannot guarantee that all of the individual experiences will be as listed or occur on the indicated day. We strive to ensure that if we adjust the itinerary, everything will still be of the same character and quality.

I don't have a roommate, is it possible to share a room with someone else on the tour?

We typically have travelers looking to share rooms. Once we have all of the registrations in, we can suggest roommates and put you in touch so you can be sure that you'll enjoy your time together. We understand it's a challenge spending so much time with someone you haven't met before!
